VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
If you have been accepted to study at the Technical University of Moldova as a foreigner, it’s important to check if you are required to hold a visa at the entrance, exit and transit of the territory of the Republic of Moldova. The Study (D/AS) visa category is issued for third-country nationals who plan to enter the Republic of Moldova for various levels of education, including pre-university, university, or post-university studies. This visa is also applicable for individuals seeking to obtain academic degrees from both state and private education institutions accredited according to the law.
Should you require an entry visa, you must apply to the Diplomatic Missions of the Republic of Moldova. All foreigners accepted for studies must apply for a visa and prepare the following documents:
- Application Form;
- Valid Travel Document (Passport) issued within the past 10 years, valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended date of leaving the territory of the Republic of Moldova (in the case of minors – additionally the birth certificate and the passport of the legal representative);
- Recent Passport-Sized Color Photo (35mm x 45mm);
- Invitation Letter issued by the General Inspectorate for Migration, if required, or a residence permit or valid visa (except a transit visa) issued by a member state of the European Union or by a state part to the Schengen Agreement, by the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, by the United States of America or by Canada;
- Confirmation of Acceptance to Studies from the educational institution;
- Proof of Sufficient Financial Means to cover study and living expenses (in the amount established), except for foreign scholars of the Republic of Moldova (in the latter case, proof of holding a scholarship in Moldova) or part of student exchange programs;
- Consent of Parents or Guardian for minors studying in Moldova;
- Criminal Record from the country of origin, translated into Romanian or English and legalized or apostilled, except minors under 16 years, if applicable;
- Travel Medical Insurance valid throughout the territory of the Republic of Moldova, which fully covers the expected period of stay and all expenses that repatriation for medical reasons, emergency medical treatments and/or emergency hospitalization or death may require, with minimum coverage of 30,000 EUR;
- Consular Fee of 40 EUR (plus any additional fees, if applicable);
- Additional Documents may be required for participation in a student exchange program, such as a copy of the agreement between educational institutions that organize the program, the proof of financial means to cover living expenses and accommodation commitment.

MEDICAL INSURANCE
Medical insurance is a mandatory requirement for all students enrolled at Technical University of Moldova. It is essential for students to obtain medical insurance for a minimum duration of three months. Several licensed insurance companies in the Republic of Moldova offer medical insurance plans suitable for students. The university provides assistance to international students in the process of acquiring medical insurance in Moldova through its dedicated staff.
Medical insurance documentation must be presented along with other required documents when applying for a temporary residence permit at the Inspectorate of Migration of the Republic of Moldova.
