Admission requirements / Necessary documents

Enrolment at Technical University of Moldova (UTM) is provided equally to all citizens of the Republic of Moldova (MD) and from other countries, regardless of nationality, gender, social origin, place of residence, etc.

Admission requirements for studies at UTM are specified under the legislation of the MD, International Conventions to which MD has adhered, Interstate agreements, the Regulation on foreigner’s training in the Educational Institutions of MD approved by the UTM’s Senate. Any foreign citizen applying to UTM’s studies is eligible, if he/she meets the requirements established in MD for foreign students.

The enrollment of international students could be done:

  • based on students exchange programs specified in the interstate agreements and International Conventions;
  • based on specific agreements between UTM and other Universities, which provide students exchange programs,
  • based on students’ individual contracts.

 

Before application it is strongly recommended to carefully analyze the offered study-programmes, training requirements, etc. If you cannot find on the website enough information, you can contact the International Students Office staff, who will send you the necessary information. Application deadlines

In order to issue the confirmation of study entitlement by the Ministry of Education and Research of Republic of Moldova and to prepare the invitation to studies, it is necessary to send to the e-mails: irina.vigoneailo@adm.utm.md or international@adm.utm.md, the  copies of documents mentioned in the List of necessary document, the points 2,4,5,6,7,9,13,14, including also the information regarding travel route to Republic  of Moldova and border point. After the documents are examined by the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova and the confirmation of study entitlement will be issued, the invitation procedure will be finished only after transferring the admission fee (100 EUR) into the University’s bank account.

The original documents will be present at the arrival to Moldova.

Application deadlines:

Background courses – the 25th of October;

Undergraduate study – the 15th of September;

PhD study – the 25th of November.

International students who do not speak Romanian or Russian must attend the background training courses, while the candidates who speak Romanian or Russian shall pass a language level test. The candidates who will present Graduation Confirmation certificates of Romanian trainings are enrolled without passing any language level test for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate studies.

The procedure is similar for the applicants choosing to study in English.

Necessary documents

To apply for studies at UTM, international students must submit the following documents:

  1. The application form according to the model approved by the higher education institution (Form 1).
  2. The copy of the national passport with a validity period of at least one year.
  3. The copy and legalized translation of the marriage certificate, if it is not drawn up in a language of international circulation.
  4. The copy of the certificate of completion of training courses for foreigners (as applicable).
  5. The copy and legalized translation of the baccalaureate diploma or its equivalent – for enrolment in the 1st cycle (bachelor’s degree) or integrated higher studies.
  6. The copy and legalized translation of the bachelor’s degree and the supplement to the degree or the equivalents of these documents – for enrolment in the 2nd cycle (master’s degree).
  7. The copy and legalized translation of the bachelor’s degree, master’s degree and diploma supplements or their equivalents – for enrolment in the 3rd cycle (doctoral degree).
  8. Self-declaration of the applicant regarding the veracity of the presented data and documents (Form 2Form3).

 

Notice: The documents mentioned in sub-points 5-7 will be apostilled/supra-legalized in accordance with the provisions of the legislation in force of the issuing state and of the Republic of Moldova and translated into Romanian or a language of international circulation. In addition to the study documents, the candidate should present the following documents after he/she will be admitted to the university:

  1. The criminal record from the home country (country of residence) legalized and apostilled, translated into English legalized by a notary. The translation into Romanian and its notary legalization will be made in Republic of Moldova.

 

Notice: The criminal record must not be expired at the country entry date. If not, a new criminal record will be necessary to have before applying for residence permit.

  1. A copy of the health insurance (international standard) valid for at least one year.
  2. Birth and marriage or name change certificate, notary legalized copies (for those who had changed the name).
  3. Training course completion certificate, which attests the level of the language proficiency in which they will study.
  4. Academic certificate (in case of enrolment in years 2 – 4 for further studies).
  5. A recent bank statement with funds confirmation, which prove the existence of at least 3200 EUR.

 

Notice: If the mentioned documents are filled in other language than Romanian, Russian or English, then they must have their translation (legalized by the notary) in any of these languages. Obligatorily, the International Students Office of UTM accepts all the original documents and their translations just when they are legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the native country.
